California's Business Costs

I love this quote:

Democrats are particularly sensitive because they've been trying to convince voters that things are improving in the state, in hopes that they'll then be more inclined to approve the governor's tax initiative this November. Plus, Comcast's announcement was particularly ill-timed since Campbell's Soup had also reported last week that it was moving 700 jobs to North Carolina, Ohio and Texas. Mr. Rossi insisted that it was "due to the high costs of operating an antiquated facility" in Sacramento.
And why are they antiquated?  Probably because to upgrade them would initiate a torrent of red tape and would take two to three times as long as just expanding their other operations.
