As for me, we need to get rid of all of these guys. Yes, I said all of them. It's a shame to have to let the good guys go, but we have to start with a clean slate. When we vote people into office, there should be two prerequisites: one, a simple math class and, two, do they have any common sense, which these days is apparently hard to find. If we're paying the tab through our taxes, they tend to throw out common sense. In my house, when you're low on money, we cut back on things. That's not to say there aren't things we'd like to have, but common sense tells us we can't. And they need to do the same. But our majority here in California wants to keep going over the cliff and keep spending and taxing.

Letter: California knows all about fiscal cliffs
I wish there was some way to do this. Maybe what CA'ians ought to do is vote on a proposition that in, say, 2016 all elected officials in all state, county and city functions can not run for re-election. Also, that there should be a one-time election to replace them all. They could call this "State Re-Set".
