The members said current deportation policies make communities less safe by making immigrants less willing to cooperate with law enforcement. The bill is called the TRUST Act, or A.B. 4, by Assemblyman Tom Ammiano (D-San Francisco). Brown vetoed a similar bill last year on the grounds that it was too broad. The current bill now before the state senate would enlarge the number of crimes that would start deportation proceedings. The bill is opposed by the California District Attorneys Association.What. A.
