Data highlights California’s dream and nightmare

For instance, a quick perusal finds that San Diego County has the 13th highest unemployment rate in the state at a still-high 7.8 percent. But head over the mountains into Imperial County and the "Two California" theme echoed by the business group is hard to avoid. Imperial has the worst unemployment in the state, at a shocking 26.1 percent. There are troubling differences within regions, also, but the geographic differences are stark.
