Simi Valley shower maker to move to Texas

You can't argue with his reasoning:

Owner Mitch Altman gave several reasons for the move, including taxes in Texas and California's business climate and taxes. But he said the main reason was to give employees moving with him a chance for more affordable housing and "better" schools in a "newer area" on the salaries they are receiving now and will continue to receive in Texas.

"California's a great place to live, and the weather's great," Altman said. "But we have other things to consider. There are other states that provide a better quality of life for the amount of money they're earning in California."

Altman decided to move now because he wanted to make a long-term commitment and invest in a building, but, "The climate here was not something that would work for me," he said.
