How Wal-Mart's Halloween Swat Team Stops Offensive Costumes

A Wal-Mart Swat Team.  That is incredibly disturbing.  And how far will this go?  And the reporter just thinks it's the greatest thing he's ever heard of.
Just this week, for instance, a children's costume depicting an Israeli soldier earned negative headlines for Wal-Mart. The team also whiffed this season with Little Amigo, a costume modeled by a little white boy in a sombrero, poncho, and simulated mustache. A huge, fake "Arab" nose also slipped through. These items were speedily removed from Walmart.com soon after customers complained.
An Israeli soldier is bad?  Really?

And then we read that Ebay has jumped onto the "ban the offensive" wagon.

EPA ANNOUNCES IT WILL SHUT ITS DOORS. CUTS WORLD CARBON EMISSIONS BY 15% BY DOING SO

Washington DC - Gina McCarthy, the Director of the Environmental Protection Agency (also known as the EPA) under Obama stood at the podium in the Press Room to make the stunning announcement.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, it is quite clear that by shutting down the EPA we would cut carbon emissions (which are a leading cause of global warming and climate change) by 15%. "

The crowd of reporters gasped and one female reporter fainted.

"We tried our best to minimize our carbon foot print, but the results have been disappointing to say the least.  We ran the numbers through our climate models - and we know how accurate the models are.  And they don't, and nor do we, lie."

She turned to the easel board that had the numbers to back her up.  She used a laser pointer to highlight each of the bullet points.

"We try to justify a fair amount of what we do.  The cars, the planes, the boats, the helicopters - you name it.  And each vehicle is required for us to carry out each of our important functions."  She tried to point to each bullet point, but ended up just making swirls on the board.

"But the thousands of cars, the hundreds of planes and dozens of helicopters and hundreds of boats have just been spewing and belching mass quantities of carbon dioxide, which is the leading cause of climate change.

Then there is the question of our SWAT teams we have funded.  Their specialized gear and uniforms, all at the cost of ever increasing amounts of carbon dioxide, which lead to  more abrupt climate change.  Even their bullets - the millions and millions of rounds of ammunition - wait, was I allowed to admit that - oh, what the hell - the tens of millions of rounds that if ever used would create vast quantities of carbon dioxide which is known to cause global warming.

Then there are the 15,000 plus employees we have that breathe in and out expelling vast quantities of carbon dioxide, which is known to cause a rise in the earth's temperature.  And the cars they drive to work, and the food they eat and the children they raise..."

Ms McCarthy stopped to compose herself.  A tear trickled down her cheek.  It was obvious she was moved by her discoveries. "It's...it's all too much."  There was not a dry eye in the room.  Someone could be heard quietly saying "poor dear..."

It was at this point, the pool of reporters exploded with questions.  But Ms McCarthy said she would not take any and had to go to the bathroom anyway.  "I can't hold it in any longer.  We have a program in place called 'Hold the Poop!' to help lower the impact of sewage on the deteriorating sewage systems in the inner DC area."  At that, she headed for the door.

But one intrepid reporter did manage to get one question in before Ms McCarthy disappeared.

"But....but what about the rest of the government?  What about THEIR carbon foot print?"

The pool of reporters roared their displeasure over the seemingly straightforward question. Someone shoved the violating reporter down to the ground.

Just before the double doors to the Press Room shut you could hear her answer "Talk to the Energy Department about that!"

Getting rid of the EPA would reduce climate change by 15%

That is my assessment.  What is it based on?  Why, nothing, of course.  But what is the basis for the EPA's assessment of pumpkins causing global warming based on?  Probably the same whimsical thoughts mine is.

Most of the 1.3 billion pounds of pumpkins produced in the U.S. end up in the trash, says the Energy Department’s website, becoming part of the “more than 254 million tons of municipal solid waste (MSW) produced in the United States every year.”
So, we'll see them complain about Christmas trees next, right?  And then when Easter rolls around, the EPA will complain about all the hard boiled eggs.

You do realize what this "announcement" is for, right?  The purpose of the declaration WILL LEAD TO LIMITS on pumpkin production and usage.

In the meantime, we bought a pumpkin. And we plan to eat it.  Here is the recipe I found that is great!  It's a Pumpkin Pot.

DOJ Claims Apple Should Be Forced To Decrypt iPhones Because Apple, Not Customers, 'Own' iOS

Then Apple should remove the encryption capability, release it to the public domain and allow third parties to develop the tools for citizens the use it on their iPhones.

The DOJ's argument is this: we've used these orders before to force Apple to unlock phones. Why should this one be any different? The filing cites three other cases in which the FBI used an All Writs order to compel the unlocking of an iPhone. Pointing to these, the DOJ argues that past successes should be indicative of future results, despite Judge Orenstein's assertions that the use of these orders grants powers to the FBI that haven't been given to it by Congress.

The filing also challenges Apple's assertions about the burdensomeness of the request. The government says Apple makes $100 million per day in profit. How can the unlocking of one phone -- no matter how many man hours might go towards testimony and cross-examination -- even begin to make a dent in this pile of money?
That argument regarding the profit....that is the slippery slope...

Iowans: Trump's attack on Carson's faith will fail

Yes, he will.  Hey, I love Trump, but this is the wrong tree to be barking up.The 7th Day Adventist denomination is fairly solid.  They have a somewhat checkered past with failed predictions concerning the imminent return of Jesus Christ, but they have their heads on straight now.

The 7th Day Adventists also follow the strict rules regarding the Sabbath being on Saturday, so they hold their church services then.  I would say they probably put only a slightly larger emphasis on Old Testament teachings than, say, the Southern Baptist do.  Other than that, if you got an Adventist and a Baptist in a room together and they started talking "church", you as an onlooking would have a tough time distinguishing who was of which denomination.

So, Trump better find something else to criticize Carson about.  Fast.

'Bureaucracy run amok': School dumps federal lunch program, is deemed 'processing plant'

I think it's time to tell the Federal Government to stick it up their ass.  I just can not believe that this school is being treated this way.  What utter stupidity.

The highschool dumped Michell's idiotic, twisted food program and saw increases in food consumption by the teens.  They continued to support the crappy Federal program for the primary and middle schools.

And then the problems began.
But the problem arose when U.S. Department of Agriculture officials, and the state agency that shares oversight of the program, realized that nearly all of the district’s food is taken in, stored and prepared at the facility at the high school. That means food destined for the one middle and four elementary schools, which is subsidized by taxpayers, could be co-mingled with food that is not. It also means the high school – but not the other schools in the district – would forgo foods the USDA provides at low prices, including cheese, diced chicken and peaches.

To ensure that all food was properly accounted for, the district could either build a separate facility for food preparation at the other schools or adopt the type of strict accounting system used at industrial food processing facilities, where every item is monitored coming in and going out. It would also have to submit to rigorous and regular federal inspections, according to Greenberg.

“Say we are making meat loaf,” Greenberg said. “Someone drops a pound of ground beef on the floor. Normally, we would simply throw that away. But now, we would have to log it, and document whether it came out of the high school’s supplies or the elementary school’s.
Was this their "punishment" for dropping the highschool federal food program for something more sensible?

The nation has lost its way.

Pippin Malgrem interview: Russian and Chinese Policy Makers say to me "who is more communist now?"

Sort of a longish interview but the point that she makes here is the the most PROFOUND statement made by the former Communist countries (more or less).  The video will start a few seconds (time stamp 31:49) before this statement.  It is so amazingly sad.

This reminds me of several years ago.  A young Christian woman took my son "under her wing" to disciple him.  Years later, my son came to me and asked, "do you remember that girl who I hung around with back in the day?" He mentioned her name, but I can't recall it now.

"Well," he continued, "I ran into her a few days ago.  I almost didn't recognize her.  She lost a lot of weight and looked really bad.  She got hooked on drugs and is barely getting by."

My son said she was embarrassed and humiliated that he was seeing her in such a state. "I'm sorry that you have to see me like this.  And here I was trying to help you..."

The USA is now the dope addict that was preaching to the WORLD to get off the dope.

Saudi Arabia to run out of cash in less than 5 years

I have a feeling this is not going to end well....

Huge budget surpluses are quickly swinging to massive deficits as oil prices have crashed to around $45 currently from over $100 last year. Many of these countries are being forced to tap into rainy day funds to weather the storm.

"Oil exporters will need to adjust their spending and revenue policies to ensure fiscal sustainability," the IMF wrote.

1 In 2 Working Americans Make Less Than $30,000 A Year

Let's see how many high priced eggs the majority of people can now afford.  Couldn't people who get paid $500,000 a year see any of this coming?

Fifty-one percent of working Americans make less than $30,000 a year, new data from the Social Security Administration (SSA) shows.

That’s $2,500 a month before taxes and just over the federal poverty level for a family of five. The new numbers come from the National Wage Index, which SSA updates each year based on reported wages subject to the federal income tax.

In 2014, half of working Americans reported an income at or below $28,851 (the median wage), and 51 percent reported an income of less than $30,000. Forty percent are making less than $20,000. The federal government considers a family of four living on an income of less than $24,250 to be impoverished.

The Decline of ObamaCare

Well this all blows a hole in my predictions.  But that's ok. But, I'd rather it be completely eliminated rather than "rewritten".
The HHS survey shows three of four ObamaCare-eligible uninsured people think having coverage is important—but four of five say they couldn’t fit their share of the premiums into their budgets even after the subsidies. They’re not poor; they tend to have jobs in industries like construction, retail and hospitality but feel insecure financially; and they prioritize items like paying down debt, car repairs or saving to buy a home over insurance.

The law’s failure to appeal to the young and rising middle class is already cascading through the insurance markets. Researchers at the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and Urban Institute recently published a remarkable study of the industry barometer called medical loss ratios, or MLRs, and the pressure is building fast.
An utter, dismal failure.

Why California eggs are so expensive

Yes, its the Perfect Storm.  Droughts, high feed costs, Avian Flu and.....Prop 2.

Now why didn't I see this coming?  This is sort of like CA raising the gas tax and then it gets followed by surging oil prices, shut down of refineries and who know what else.  Why is it, the government finds the need to "pile on" just when things go bad?

Higher chicken feed prices and the rollout of Proposition 2, which requires that all eggs sold in California come from farms that allow chickens to move around freely, also caused prices to soar, the newspaper reported.

“The costs of having to build new structures and new facilities were incurred by the egg farmers, and those costs have to get passed along,” said John Segale, spokesman for the Association of California Egg Farmers.

California farmers produce roughly one-third to one-half of the eggs eaten in the state. Some larger farms in Iowa that raise hens according to Prop. 2 specifications for California have been shut down since the avian flu outbreak, said Klippen. ...

There is one bright spot for California’s egg industry: Farmers who produce pasture-raised eggs have seen an increase in business, now that their $9 eggs no longer seem so expensive.
And here we see the median income of Americans is down from the past few years.  Why the hell would we MANDATE things to be more expensive making it more and more impossible for people to get the protein they need?

Why?  Because we've decided an animal's life is more important than a human's life.  And if we maintain that belief, we are doomed as a nation.

Egg producer battles cage-free hen myths

The anti-animal cruelty groups really don't care about people. They care about ANIMALS.  And they don't want us eating them.  But yet, we listen to them anyway.  We have to understand that PETA and other groups really don't stand on a moral high ground.
That's why I found this article interesting.  Cage-free honestly and truly is a myth.

And the No. 1 concern Rust recently addressed in a Farm World interview was the idea that hens are healthier and happier in a cage-free environment versus cages.

“In the 1960s, we went to cages for the simple reason of a cleaner, better and healthier environment for our birds,” said Rust, who today, manages a family-run operation with 21 million chickens on 15 farms for his family’s egg business that began with only 1,800 birds in 1954.

However, within the last few years, consumers have been pushing for more cage-free and specialty eggs, so Rose Acres willingly responded to the demand, but is now questioning the health of their birds.

“Since we offer both caged eggs and cage-free, we track mortality rates and have overwhelmingly noticed that the mortality rate is double, nearly triple in a floor (cage-free) environment,” he said. “I don’t understand why they (animal activists) want a system that is unhealthy for the birds when they seemingly say that’s what they care so much about.” For instance, in one cage-free barn Rose Acres reported 300 deaths due to smothering and mobbing in one particular situation.
Well, it is clear to me.  Raise the cost of the egg.  If you do this, fewer people will eat it.

Why would McDonalds do this to its customers?

Here is a great video for Rose Acre Farms and their process.  From an engineering point of view, this is amazing!

McDonald's move to cage-free eggs is a tipping point for the industry

If I were you, I would sell my McDonalds stock. I refuse to own a stock in such an immoral company. If you truly are for protecting the environment you would agree with me.

Article in the LA Times.

"The McDonald's announcement really settles the debate as to whether there will be a future for cage confinement in the egg industry — the answer is no, there won't be," said Paul Shapiro, vice president of farm animal protection for the Humane Society of the U.S. "How quickly that will happen is now the real question."

This is the same company that stopped using Styrofoam for food packaging and instead started using paper.  One has to imagine the billions and billions of hamburgers that are sold and wrapped with paper derived from square miles of trees cut down just to keep a fucking burger warm.

I find this immoral.

This all reminds me of when Whole Foods caved to PETA and started collaborating with them directly.  Such unions will end in disaster.  PETA's goal is that NO animal should be eaten.  Since Whole Foods sells meat, how the hell is it in their best interest to partner with a foe?

So I sold my stock in Whole Foods Market and never looked back.

I haven't owned McDonald's stock in years.  And now there is no way in hell I would ever own any now.  The have drunk the Koolaid.  But they can't force me to drink it.

Students demand Border Patrol booted from campus career fair, call officers unsafe and offensive

We are looking at the end of the USA as a nation.

A petition circulating among University of California students calls for UC Irvine officials to remove a U.S. Customs and Border Protection booth from the school’s upcoming fall career fair, saying the agency’s presence will make the campus unsafe for students in the country illegally.

The Change.org petition targeting the Thursday event has more than 630 signatures so far, and states in part that “having Border Patrol agents on campus is a blatant disregard to undocumented students’ safety and well-being.”
Sick, pathetic and twisted.

What REALLY is going on with McDs?

Several blogs/speakers have blamed McDs caving to people who think their fare should be healthier.  That may be true to a certain extend.  However, could it be because we're getting poorer?  This is Doug Casey...back in 1980 predicting fast food restaurants failing in the future.

What's interesting, is Phil wanting to prefer municipal bonds.  For many in the USA, municipal bonds have now turned into poison.

Russia builds massive Arctic military base

This will be the base that nobody uses.

Russia's defence ministry said Tuesday it has built a giant military base in the far northern Arctic where 150 soldiers can live autonomously for up to 18 months.

The ministry said the building erected on the large island of Alexandra Land, which is part of the Franz Josef Land archipelago, is 97 percent complete.
150 people?  That's it?

Russia is so over extended as it is. How do they ever expect to maintain a presence in all the far flung places?

The Left is falling off the deep end. Meaningless studies that say nothing.

First there is this article: The hidden inequality of who dies in car crashes

What utter cow manure.  Two things wrong with this article:

1)  I have a 2001 VW Beetle.  It's 13 years old.  This is the kind of car a lower income person would drive.  It has the following safety items:

  • Automatic braking system (ABS).
  • Driver side airbag
  • Passenger side airbag
  • seat belts in the front and rear

Pray tell, what the hell more do you want?

Next, let's look at the graph.  Which at first glance appears a bit shocking.

But...what do you notice about the light red shading for those with a less than highschool.  The 95% confidence level is VERY WIDE.  For a confidence level to be this wide, it amounts to no more than a GUESS.  The graph becomes meaningless.

Essentially, what all this means is people who drive and have a less than high school education have made lifestyle choices that affect their driving ability.  You could put them in a 2015 Escalade...and they will kill themselves in a car accident.

The next article is called : The Inequality of who gets hit by cars.
The traffic deaths aren't distributed equally though. Native Americans, Hispanics and blacks are much more likely to die as pedestrians in traffic accidents than whites or Asian-Americans, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
And now let's look at the graph:

OK.  I see whites and blacks and hispanics and...and....A/PI  and.....AI/AN.  What the hell is this?  Is A/PI Asian and Polynesian?? What the heck is an AI/AN??  Well, whoever, AI/AN are they are being slaughtered!!

And then the psychological test.  Just icing on the cake:
When a black man was waiting at the crosswalk, drivers were less likely to stop. On average, the black participants waited 32 percent longer and had twice as many cars pass them by. The difference became more pronounced after the first car passed. Researchers speculated that seeing another car in front of them pass without stopping made other drivers feel that stopping wasn't as necessary.

Sorry, but if there is no stop sign or stop light, I DON'T STOP.  I don't care what color the pedestrian is.  The pedestrian should ALWAYS wait for traffic to clear.

The conclusion that blacks/hispanics are less likely to cross at the intersection or at a traffic light due to DISCRIMINATION leading them to cross in the middle of the street is COMPLETE STUPIDITY.  It would seem to me, that after a couple of close calls when crossing at the middle of the block the person would GET A CLUE that this is not the best place to cross.

Additionally, hispanics who have arrived here illegally have no concept of SAFETY like we do.  I know this for a FACT since I had to visit three refineries in Mexico.  Crossing in the middle of the block to them is no more or less safer than crossing at a corner with a light.

Otherwise, all things being equal, apparently, the authors of the study, being the racists they are themselves, don't think minorities are SMART enough to know that crossing from the middle of the block will kill them.

They need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

Concerns raised over lack of diversity in SF school election results

Sick pathetic Leftist.  You see, diversity trumps your right to vote.  Why didn't you already know that?
The incident happened at Everett Middle School in San Francisco’s Mission District. The voting was held Oct. 10, but the principal sent an email to parents on Oct. 14 saying the results would not be released because the candidates that were elected as a whole do not represents the diversity that exists at the school.

...

“That is concerning to me because as principal I want to make sure all voices are heard from all backgrounds,” Van Haren said.
WTF?  The kids VOTED.  That WAS the sum total of ALL their voices.

Just unbelievable.

LEFTIST RACISM: Smithsonian Determined to Celebrate Anti-Human Planned Parenthood Founder, Margaret Sange

Well, we see nothing changes.  The Republicans, the Party of Lincoln is repeatedly slandered by Leftists, calling conservatives racists...and then Leftists go about their normally racist ways.

The National Portrait Gallery claims they are only honoring her birth control efforts. “Birth control itself, often denounced as a violation of natural law, is nothing more or less than the facilitation of the process of weeding out the unfit, of preventing the birth of defectives or of those who will become defective.” These were the words of Margaret Sanger from her book Women and the New Race (Chapter 18).

Why bother with actual history? The Smithsonian obviously isn’t as it proudly sugarcoats a broken woman’s destructive propaganda that wasn’t about the elevation of humanity, but the elimination of it.
Genocide was Sanger's best friend.

SeaWorld to Challenge California Ban on Orca Breeding

Why can't CA just BUTT OUT.  There isn't a single thing they don't feel the need to control.
The announcement comes a week after the California Coastal Commission endorsed a $100 million expansion of the tanks SeaWorld uses to hold orcas in San Diego. That ruling also outlined a series of restrictions on SeaWorld, including a ban on breeding and prohibitions on the sale, trade or transfer of the whales.

SeaWorld said it would "pursue legal action" and hired a law firm. But it wasn't immediately clear if that would lead to a lawsuit, regulatory appeal or other action.

Rush: What the Fundraising Numbers Tell Us

How about this as a really "out there" prediction:

Trump, Cruz or Carson wins the GOP nomination.  The PTB in the GOP are utterly astonished.  They immediately repudiate the Nominee and throw their support behind the Democratic Party Nominee completely abandoning Trump/Cruz/Carson.

It is at this point we finally find out what we knew all along: that the upper party officials are just Dems in GOP clothing.

Here's Rush's take on the whole thing.
Hillary has raised almost $30 million, and 17% of it is from donors of $200 or less. Essentially the vast majority of Hillary's donors are the standard, ordinary big moneyed people. Next is Bernie Sanders at $26 million. And the percentage of that $26 million raised from donors of $200 or less is 77%. If you combine the money raised by Bernie Sanders and Hillary Clinton, you come out with close to $56 million. I'm gonna tell you what that spells. That spells ass whooping on Election Day if the Republican Party does not nominate a conservative. Because when you go through the rest of this, you will find all of this money on the Republican side, Chris Christie, $4 million; Jeb Bush, $13 million; Kasich, $4 million; Fiorina, $6 million.

The establishment candidates here are getting a lot of money, but nowhere near what the Democrats are getting. The anti-establishment Republican candidates, Ben Carson, $20 million. He's the third largest fundraiser. Ted Cruz, $12 million. Jeb Bush is in there at 13. The point is the Democrats are raising a lot of money. There is a lot of enthusiasm for the Democrat candidates, either at Hillary or Bernie Sanders. It cannot be denied. We cannot assume that everybody voting for one of those two is an idiot and a member of a minority or whatever. They are fully energized, particularly the Sanders people.
The GOP candidates are doing poorly raising money because most conservatives donors have walked away.  And the party officials are completely clueless and stupid.

Conservatism is the New Counter-Culture

Well, I sure hope this guy is even half right.

Motoped Survival Bike Looks Like a Million Bucks, Has 400 Miles Range

Small engine driven bicycles have a special place in my heart.  And this is probably the most awesomest gas powered bicycle in the world!  I would love one.'
Motoped adds one more cool machine to their roster, in the form of the Survival model, a bike with a strong military attire, but an exceptional vehicle in all situations.

This super-hauler is, like the other Motoped bike we brought you, a stunning crossbreed between a mountain bike and lightweight motorcycle. Motoped Survival retains full functionality of both machines and blends them into a new species which looks like it could help anyone escape a zombie attack or, in the absence of flesh-eating monsters, have the fun of a lifetime in the wild, time after time.

Is 400 to 500 miles range enough for the traveller in you?
Here's a youtube video:

CA WAR ON CHRISTIANS CONTINUE: Obama’s America: Look why this black CHURCH is being fined

And yet again how far we've sunk.
But it appears the assault on Christianity in this nation isn’t a “whites only” policy. A church in Oakland, California has been threatened with a nuisance fee of $3,500 and daily fines of $500 – for what?

Singing.

Yes, while most people who love Gospel music call it “the joyful noise,” apparently folks in Oakland just hear it as…noise.

Illinois To Delay Pension Payments Amid Budget Woes: "For All Intents And Purposes, We Are Out Of Money Now"

Just incredible.

As the two or three readers of my blog know, I've been following Il woes for several years.  I've often said they were in worse shape than CA.  Now, right when the market is tanking, they are running out of money.

Now, as Bloomberg reports, pension payments are set to be delayed. Bond payments, apparently, will still be made.

Illinois will delay pension payments as a prolonged budget impasse causes a cash shortage, Comptroller Leslie Geissler Munger said.
The spending standoff between Republican Governor Bruce Rauner and Democratic legislative leaders has extended into its fourth month with no signs of ending. Munger said her office will postpone a $560 million retirement-fund payment next month, and may make the December contribution late.
Here is the link to the Bloomberg article.

Texas Rancher Fights Back Against BLM Land Grab

CUT THEIR FUCKING BUDGET!  You do that...the People will be FREE.
From Infowars:

Ken Aderholt runs cattle on his roughly 1,250 acres in Harrold, Texas, along the Red River, which forms the border between the Lone Star State and Oklahoma.

Aderholt’s family has had a deed to the land since 1941, and he had hoped to pass the property and the family business on to his sons.

“They come down here a lot and play,” Aderholt told KAUZ News Channel 6. “They help with the cattle and help building fences. They are very interested in hanging round here and helping me out.”

But according to the Bureau of Land Management, the same federal government agency that confronted Nevada rancher Cliven Bundy in 2014, some of that land belongs to the feds, and they want the Aderholts off it.

Furthermore, the BLM claims the deed that proves Aderholt’s ownership of the land, given to his parents by the State of Texas, is worthless.

“The BLM is saying we should have never had a deed to it. That Texas should have never produced that deed,” Aderholt said.

GO TO HELL GOP. LEADERS TRY TO AMBUSH TRUMP "Busted ! CNN Uses Jeb Bush Staffer Planted In Audience To Frame Donald Trump Narrative/Hit Job"

Well, that did it for me.  I'll never ever vote Republican again. I guess they thought they were being clever, smart, wily, sneaky.  All they were doing was showing how absolutely stupid and idiotic and EVIL they are.

That's it.  I'm done with the Republican Party.  Find someone else to vote for your guys.  I'm striaght Libertarian.  I may make an exception for the President (as long as it's not Jeb or others of his stripe.  But local, State and national congressmen votes will be for Libertarians.

During an appearance at a Jon Huntsman “No Labels” event, a female audience member named Lauren Batchelder played the role of a female antagonist toward candidate Donald Trump.

However, Ms. Batchelder is not just an average audience member. She’s a paid political operative of the GOP and a paid staff member of Team Jeb Bush...

Non-Citizens Will Now Vote In At Least One State

CA and OR should lose their vote in congress and the US Senate.  US Senators and US Congressmen from CA and OR should be INVALIDATED. This is immoral and disgusting.  Are we all just going to sit and let this travesty continue?

This is what conservatives were afraid of and this is just one more example of a conspiracy theory come true. It will undoubtedly ramp up voter fraud in California.

California’s Secretary of State feels differently

“In a free society, the right to vote is fundamental,” said Secretary of State Alex Padilla. “The New Motor Voter Act will make our democracy stronger by removing a key barrier to voting for millions of California citizens.”

Who is going to SUE THE STATE? Why the HELL are CITIZENS of CA fine with this?  Have they all lost their minds?

USDA data on 370 crops: Why organic farming has lower yields

Organic crops will not feed the world.
I compared 2014 survey data from organic growers with overall agricultural yield statistics for that year on a crop by crop, state by state basis. The picture that emerges is clear–organic yields are mostly lower. To have raised all U.S. crops as organic in 2014 would have required farming of one hundred nine million more acres of land. That is an area equivalent to all the parkland and wildland areas in the lower 48 states or 1.8 times as much as all the urban land in the nation. As of 2014 the reported acreage of organic cropland only represented 0.44 percent of the total, but if organic were to expand significantly, its lower land-use-efficiency would become problematic. This is one of several reasons to question the assertion that organic farming is better for the environment.
Organic growing requires increased land.  Increased farming.  Increased CO2.  How can they live with that?

Government-Mandated Speech: Jerry Brown Signs Law Forcing Pro-Life Pregnancy Centers to Promote Abortion

This is evil and despicable.
Gov. Jerry Brown (D.-Calif.) signed a law on Friday mandating that all licensed pregnancy centers in the state “disseminate to clients” a message promoting public programs with “free or low-cost access” to abortion and contraceptive services.

The new law makes no exception for pro-life and faith-based crisis pregnancy centers.

Critics of the law say that it violates the right to freedom of speech, which is guaranteed by the First Amendment.
If this keeps up I see violence.

L.A., Long Beach ports losing to rivals amid struggle with giant ships

Yep.  CA is struggling.

The ports handled 39% of U.S. container imports in 2002; that fell to 32% by 2013, according to U.S. census data. They have lost business to competitors at a time when, overall, global trade is booming and imports are rising at all ports, including L.A. and Long Beach.

"The dominance of Southern California as the Asia gateway is facing a lot more competition," said maritime consultant John Martin, who analyzed the trade data.

The loss in market share represented an estimated 12,300 direct and indirect California jobs in 2013, and more than $112 million in state and local tax revenue, according to Martin's research.
Before I covered the fact that CA could not get its collective act together to meet this problem.  State regulations and turf wars were slowing things down considerably.  Now we can see the effect.

They're losing.

US ports that don’t invest will miss the mega-ships, Charleston port chief says

Looks SC will be a real winner.  CA...not so much, or so the article seems to be saying.
The head of one of the fastest-growing ports said the days of U.S. ports gateways unwilling or unable to invest hundreds of millions of dollars in infrastructure to become a top 10 port are limited. Without major investments in deeper harbors, larger terminals, taller cranes and extensive rail and highway infrastructure, ports will literally miss the boat in the era of big ships, said Jim Newsome, president and CEO of the South Carolina Ports Authority.

“If you are not a top 10 container port, you will not stay in the container business in the future,” Newsome said Monday in his annual state-of-the port address
Here's the part that is a little vague and makes it looks like CA (with NY-NJ) is struggling:

The three largest U.S. ports — Los Angeles, Long Beach and New York-New Jersey — have learned the hard way the past two years that mega-ships cause cargo surges of 4,000 to more than 10,000 container moves per vessel call, creating huge problems in the container yards, at the gates and on intermodal connectors in the harbor area. Those ports have well-documented problems with terminal congestion and clogged infrastructure.

L.A.'s Westside Wealthy and the Homeless Collide as Numbers Surge

I really don't like talking about this subject.  I think it's exploitive.  But there comes a point where the numbers and situations can't be ignored.

I think we're there in CA.
Mayor Eric Garcetti declares a state of emergency as the city sees a 12 percent increase in the homeless population, law enforcement's hands are tied, and Westside enclaves like Brentwood and Mar Vista close ranks (and parks) against the tide of transients.

Bible event publicized in fliers sent by Folsom Cordova district

How far we have fallen....
An emailed flier had some parents questioning why the Folsom Cordova Unified School District would send information to their inboxes publicizing “bring your Bible to school day.”

The flier promoted Thursday as the day for students to bring their Bible to campus. It quoted a verse from Matthew that said “Let your light shine.” It also included a disclaimer that said the school district was not a sponsor of the program.

But some parents were furious that the district had allowed a religious entity to promote itself via the district email system. The flier was sent to about 20,000 email addresses in the district.
We are a ghost of our former selves.  And all it took was one generation.

Cloud-based software firm will move to Cedar Park

From Community Impact Newspaper.
Cloud-based software company LiveOps will move its corporate headquarters from Redwood, California, to Cedar Park after the Texas Enterprise Fund awarded the company a grant of $1.2 million, the governor’s office announced July 30.

Larry Holt, assistant director of economic development in Cedar Park, said the city competed with several other states and Denver, Colorado, for LiveOps and its 80 California employees.

Grocery chain Haggen is leaving California, Nevada and Arizona

Looks like cheap debt lead them this way.  That's just a guess.
Haggen Inc. is leaving California after a dramatic expansion gone wrong forced the grocery chain to file for bankruptcy protection this month.

The Bellingham, Wash., company said Thursday that it is closing all its stores in the state as part of a larger exit of its Pacific Southwest holdings, including in Arizona and Nevada. That would affect at least 100 outlets, with 67 in California. That follows the closure of 27 stores announced last month, including 16 in the Golden State.

Fleeing California

Not a recent article.  But thought it needed to be stressed.

But after surviving depressions, recessions, earthquakes and wars, Farmer Brothers is leaving California, finally driven out by high taxes and oppressive regulations.

The company says it’s fleeing in search of a place where business is appreciated. Relocating its corporate headquarters and distribution facilities from to a friendlier location, Farmer Brothers expects to save $15 million a year. Company executives are looking at Dallas and Oklahoma City. The relocation will bear real consequences for California. Nearly 350 workers will lose their well-paying jobs in Los Angeles alone.

Goodbye, California 🏄. Hello, Colorado 🏂.

That's what the title of their Blog says.  They moved away for a better, cheaper life.
This week, my wife and I will be packing up our things and moving away from Orange County to our new home in Colorado Springs…and Wick Video is coming along with us! While I’m looking forward to the fresh air, no traffic, and the snow, I’m also excited for what this moves means for our business.

Parents, Students Say 3rd Grader Terrorizing East Bay Elementary School

Incredible.
Some parents at an elementary school in the Contra Costa County have stopped sending their kids to class because they say the school has become dangerous because of a third grader. Students and parents at Mount Diablo Elementary School in Clayton say one child is terrorizing the entire school. “He punched someone in the stomach, and then he ran into the bathroom and locked the door. And then he threw the trash can at the bathroom door,” student Chantelle Crankson said.
And yet, a child merely nibbles a Pop Tart into the shape of a gun and he is suspended from school.  But THIS kid is allow to roam and wreak havoc.  I just don't understand this.  Only in CA.

People:  Get out of CA.  Now.

Obama weighs expanding background checks through executive authority

If he tries, impeach him.  If he isn't, I see an uprising of Americans of historic proportions to physically oppose him.
In response to the latest mass shooting during his presidency, President Obama is seriously considering circumventing Congress with his executive authority and imposing new background-check requirements for buyers who purchase weapons from high-volume gun dealers.

OUT OF CONTROL BUREAUCRATS. WHEN WILL CONGRESS CUT THEM OFF AT THE HIP?

And yet it happens AGAIN.  Out of control bureaucrats whack the Republicans making allegations through Wikipedia that McArthy had an affair.  This time it's someone from the Department of Homeland Security.

So, who now are the real puppets and who now are the real masters?

When are we going to have people in office with the GUTS to do the right thing?

Add Diesel Volkswagens To List Of Car Mass Hysteria

Nice article over much to do about not a lot.
The 40 times figure applies to a single model year of a single Volkswagen under certain driving conditions. Another vehicle under different conditions was just nine times higher.

And both figures relate to a standard that the EPA just happened to pick.

And the EPA is far from a disinterested party.

Like any health agency, it routinely justifies its budget by exaggerating health problems.

You know, like that Centers for Disease Control and Prevention prediction last year of as many as 1.5 million Ebola cases, when ultimately 13,000 existed.

So the EPA, the notorious California Air Resources Board and a cottage industry of grant-hungry scientists keep teasing data in a desperate effort to find some sort of statistically significant adverse health effect from ever-lower levels of any man-made pollutant.

California’s Pensions Are An Economic Burden, Not Benefit

This article was in response to an article that appeared in Fox and Hounds.  That surprises me.  F&H is a fairly conservative website.

I agree with the author.  Taking money from one person and giving it to another to spend is hardly a stimulus.  Also, not all CA pensioners live in  CA.  According to the article 15% of the pensioners move out of the state.  So how is that money helping CA?

Beckwith’s primary argument is this: California’s pension systems pay out over $3.0 billion per month to retired state and local government workers, who go out and spend this money, “at auto repair shops, home improvement centers, tuition for grandchildren, hair salons, rent, and at a thousand other small and large businesses.”

The problem with this reasoning rests on a fundamental assumption Beckwith makes, which is that all the money taken from taxpayers to fund these pension investments would not have created a similar economic stimulus if they had been free to spend it themselves. Mr. Beckwith goes on to extol the virtues of professional financial managers placing pension fund investments around the world, then pouring the returns back into California’s economy, but when he does this, he ignores the actual cash flows in and out of California’s state and local pension systems.

Tough new equal pay law threatens to accelerate California’s business exodus

Leftist just don't understand.  Their ideology has consequences.
Richard A. Epstein, senior fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University, called the California bill “crazy,” predicting it would intensify the state’s economic woes by creating an “administrative quagmire” that will discourage voluntary job changes and encourage companies to leave or reduce their state footprint.

“The asymmetrical outcomes are likely to distort labor markets further, and to give firms a strong incentive to expand their businesses elsewhere and even to transfer existing work out of the state,” Mr. Epstein, a New York University Law School professor, said in an October 1 post on his Hoover blog.
Only two of the Republicans voted against this piece of Leftist shit.  How utterly revolting.

SUPREME COURT JUSTICE TO DRUDGE: YOU'RE DONE!

Absolutely amazing video of Alex Jones interviewing Matt Drudge.  Listen...and be afraid.

Pushing Boundaries in Agriculture | Rob Saik | TEDxRedDeer

GREAT youtube video on GMO in Africa and the idiots trying to stop it.

As disease threatens Uganda’s banana crop, ActionAid and anti-GMO groups fan fears

Here are more details on the banana crisis in Africa.

The current resistant transgenic lines have already been tested in trials over three generations and the resistance have not broken down. What is left, aside further safety tests, is to subject these crops to various ecological conditions across the country to select the best lines for farmers. Uganda lacks a comprehensive regulatory framework to govern the processes beyond the trials; the existing law only allows for research. The Biotechnology and Biosafety Bill that the activists have been fighting to block would, if passed, establish a competent authority to oversee the research and deregulation process and path the way to commercialization. Without the law these resistant varieties will remain in laboratories rather than in fields, and farmers and the public will be helpless to confront the spread of the disease that is wiping away their main source of food.

ActionAid has led the demonization campaigns. After several embarrassing investigations into its anti-GMO propaganda efforts, the NGO “repentened” for propagating non-factual information about GMOs, but then continued its campaign covertly. With ActionAid in retreat, the majority party in Uganda’s parliament endorsed the Biosafety Bill, and endorsements followed from a good number of legislators on the minority side. The activists are not doing well either in Tanzania. When Tanzanian ministers and legislators visited Uganda’s research facilities, they returned and amended its formerly prohibitive law to allow research to be conducted without undue encumbrances.
The anti-GMO crowd is saying "Fuck the little guy.  Doesn't he have cake to eat?"

KNOW GMO The movie

The war against GMO is the war against people who wnat to eat.  And letting them starve.  How can anti-GMO live with themselves?

This is a documentary coming out hopefully, soon.

Banana trees are being wiped out in Asia and other areas on the other side of the globe.  This fruit provided food for people and money when shipped to other 1st world nations.  Blight is wiping them out.  There's been a race to solve the problem.  GMO is one of the solutions.  And apparently, the problem has been solved.
“I cannot begin to imagine how Canadian farmers would react if they had to mow their wheat fields because of a disease with a solution,” was Nick Saik’s passionate remark when he saw a helpless banana farmer in Uganda carrying a banana diseased from wilt that he had plucked from an 8-month-old banana tree.

Saik was in Africa to shoot part of a documentary titled “Know GMO.” He interacted with and interviewed banana and cassava farmers, scientists and members of Parliament — those looking for a solution to their common problems, disease threatening staple plants in Africa. The available transgenic solution is being fought against by anti-GMO activists despite the benefits the technology provides.

NUMBER ONE WITH A BULLET

Bill Whittle does it again.

Pepsi Perfect. The Future is Now

It's 2015. The year Marty McFly went into the future in the movie Back To The Future II.  Pepsi had a cameo spot in the movie and now Pepsi is celebrating not being completely wiped out by Coca Cola by now (ala Pan Am Airlines in the movie 2001:A Space Odyssey).

Guns don't kill people -- liberals kill people

Yes....sadly, it's true.
Jared Laughner, who attempted to assassinate Rep. Gabby Giffords, hated George Bush, hated religion, and went after Giffords because she wasn't liberal enough. Seung-hui Cho, the Virginia Tech shooter, hated George Bush, hated Republicans, hated religion. James Holmes, the Aurora theater shooter, was connected with the Occupy Wall Street movement, hated Christians, and eventually ended up converting to Islam in prison. Adam Lanza, the Sandy Hook shooter, was reported to have a website dedicated to satan, and hated Christians. Even Craig Stephen Hicks, the atheist who shot three Muslims students in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, in February, hated "religion" of all kinds and could just as easily have vented his frustrations on Christian neighbors. It's not just shooters, either – Andrew Joseph Stack, the guy who flew his Piper Cub into the IRS building in Austin, Texas, left behind a rambling screed praising Marxism. The only seeming exception to these in recent years would be Dylann Roof, the little sicko who shot up the church in Charleston, South Carolina back in June, killing nine black parishioners. But even then, we should note that he SHOT UP A CHURCH AND KILLED NINE CHRISTIANS – not exactly the actions of the stereotypical "radical religious righter" boogeyman that the Left always warns is hiding just over the horizon.

Oops -- The Climate Scammers Lose

Very significant development.

A MATHEMATICAL discovery by Perth-based electrical engineer Dr David Evans may change everything about the climate debate, on the eve of the UN climate change conference in Paris next month. A former climate modeller for the Government’s Australian Greenhouse Office, with six degrees in applied mathematics, Dr Evans has unpacked the architecture of the basic climate model which underpins all climate science.

He has found that, while the underlying physics of the model is correct, it had been applied incorrectly.
CO2's effect was off by as much as 10 times.  The real culprit in global warming turns out to be....the sun.

Obama: Nihilist or Just Incompetent?

Probably one of the best VDH essays yet.  Absolutely scathing.
The only mystery about the disasters in Afghanistan, Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and Yemen, and our new hostility to Israel and the Gulf states, was whether Obama was incompetent and timid, or a conniving nihilist eager to reduce the Middle East to an anti-American wasteland.
O'Bama, using his lying philosophy on energy slogan, "all the above".  He's a lying, conniving, incompetent nihilist.

This is a must read.  VDH covers most of O'Bama's failures.

Secret Service Targeting of Chaffetz Alarms Lawmakers

Who didn't see this coming?  And no one gets fired.

The government agencies are out of control.  And there is only one answer:

Defund them. Cut them off at the knees. Maybe just below the hip.
A Secret Service official’s allegedly deliberate decision to embarrass Rep. Jason Chaffetz could “give pause” to other lawmakers who have applied for federal jobs, cautioned former House Judiciary Chairman Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.

The inappropriate intrusion into Privacy Act-protected information, acknowledged in a report by the agency’s inspector general, could have a chilling effect, Sensenbrenner told CQ Roll Call Thursday — and he thinks someone “should be fired over it.”

Spying on the phones and electronic devices of elected officials has stoked concern in Congress. Even Sensenbrenner, the lead author of the 2002 Patriot Act, has protested lax oversight of the National Security Agency’s activities. But the disturbing leak to two media outlets of Chaffetz’s rejected application for a Secret Service job and the particulars surrounding it raised further alarm about privacy.

“Those responsible need to be held accountable, because behavior like this threatens the very nature of independent oversight of law enforcement,” Senate Judiciary Chairman Charles E. Grassley, R-Iowa, said Thursday.
But they won't.  Why?

Corruption.

California’s huge solar projects causing energy poverty: Thomas Elias

Really, really expensive.
Overall, the emphasis on expensive solar farms — some so high-priced that the scandal-ridden state Public Utilities Commission refuses to publish their actual costs — has raised wind and solar energy production to about 12 percent of California’s total power usage. The cost of that energy comes to about $84 per megawatt hour, compared to the average $46 per megawatt hour wholesale cost of electricity, according to a new report from the conservative-oriented Manhattan Institute, headquartered in New York.

As these developments advanced, California power prices increased by 35 percent, to where they are now 40 percent above the national average. The cost for power from California’s privately owned utilities ranged from 18 cents to 21 cents per kilowatt hour, compared with 12 cents nationally.

That has caused what the Manhattan Institute calls energy poverty in some of the poorest parts of California, a phenomenon that will surely increase by 2018, when the utilities commission activates its new two-tier rate structure, designed to lower rates for big users and raise them for the more power-efficient.
...
So it turns out that California’s green energy policies, as now carried out, amount to a regressive tax on the poorest Californians. For the most part, the highest energy poverty rates occur in the counties with the highest unemployment.

Far from being champions of the poor, then, Schwarzenegger, Brown and their appointees have been the very opposite.
